                          Destination South Africa

Testimonial Giltedge

"Following Old Mutual’s recent event at Kwa Maritane, I wanted to drop you a line to once again give you some very positive feedback. As you will know, Charlotte worked closely with us on our Leadership Meeting – both on the Nairobi event, and then on the subsequent event we ended up having at Kwa Maritane. Following our unfortunate decision to cancel our conference in Nairobi due to security issues, we were extremely impressed at how quickly and smoothly Charlotte was able to do provide us with some alternative venue options. The outcome was that we pulled off a really successful and professional event at Kwa Maritane and we had lots of compliments on how quickly we managed to rework everything with just a few weeks to go. Charlotte contributed in a very big way to the success of our conference and was a pleasure to work with. She has a great eye for detail, is a great negotiator and is often one step ahead. We agreed that we make a great team! As always I hope that we have the opportunity to work with Giltedge again on any future events – and I am already recommending Charlotte, and Giltedge to my colleagues both here and in South Africa. Kind regards Mandy "

What makes South Africa a great destination

Why South Africa

South Africa is a destination you must have seen at least once in your life. The country offers so many different activities  that is actually hard to choose. To list a few, fantastic game drives to see the Big Five, five star lodges  with high level service, diving with sharks, relax at one of our many beaches at our 3000 km coast line, travel the Garden Route, visit Knysna, come to Cape Town, take a helicopter ride, taste the wine in Stellenbosch with its endless vineyards, watch the penguins, the list is endless.

Imagine yourself in stunning Cape Town, wandering through Bo-Kaap with its beautiful brightly colored houses, shopping at the V&A Waterfront, or traveling by cable car up to Table Mountain to enjoy a splendid view of the city.  South Africa is known for its braais (barbecues) and bomas at the lodges lend themselves perfectly for this. Of course we can organise braais on the beach as well for you and your clients.

You are so very welcome in our country, where you'll experience the warm atmosphere  from Africa.

Day 1 - Safari

Arrival at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg where you will be met by a local English speaking tour guide who will accompany you for the duration of your stay in South Africa.
Porters will assist in taking your luggage outside to the awaiting luxury coach.  Depart Johannesburg and drive in a north-westerly direction to the Pilanesberg Game Reserve.   (Driving time of approximately 3 hours)
Day 01 – Day 04 3 nights
NESTLED IN A BASIN OF AN ANCIENT VOLCANO divided by riverine woodlands and elephant trails, lies Ivory Tree Game Lodge.
60 STANDARD ROOMS ON OFFER each boasting private patios and outdoor showers. The four executive luxury suites are completed by private patios, outdoor showers, personal plunge pools and spacious living areas.
ACTIVITIES INCLUDE day and night game drives with possible sightings of the Big 5, cheetah, Black Rhino and Wild Dog. For those looking for adventure, various other activities are on offer nearby including archery, quad biking and elephant interaction.

Days 2 and 3 - Safari

Enjoy two game drives daily in open safari vehicles with specialized game rangers – one in the early morning and one in the late afternoon.  Savor the sounds and the smells of the African bush as you go in search of the Big Five:  lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant.
There are a number of additional activities which can be arranged for our guests in close proximity to the lodge – these would all incur extra costs and are NOT included in the lodge’s rate.  For example:
- Quad biking
- Elephant back safaris
- Clay pigeon shooting
- Archery
- Hot air ballooning over the National Park

Day 4 - Cape Winelands

Early morning game drive followed by breakfast and check-out procedures.  You’ll then be transferred to the nearby Pilanesberg Airport for a scheduled flight (SA Express) to Cape Town.
On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, proceed to the awaiting luxury coach and take a scenic drive through the rolling winelands to your hotel in Stellenbosch – South Africa’s second oldest town and renowned for its University, oak-lined streets and beautiful old Cape Dutch architecture buildings.
Day 04 – Day 06 2 nights
AS THE OLDEST AND MOST HISTORICAL HOTEL IN THE AREA,  Ouwe Werf has defined hospitality and fine cuisine for over a century.
SITUATED IN THE HISTORICAL CORE OF STELLENBOSCH TOWN, the hotel comprises guestrooms and five selfcatering apartments. The décor exudes a graceful ambience coupled with the comforts of modern living.
SIGNATURE GOLF COURSES, wine tours, historical village excursions as well as a variety of other activities can be arranged. The convenient location provides the perfect base from which to explore this region.
This evening enjoy an elegant dinner at the hotel.

Day 5 - Cape  Winelands

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel before departing on a full day tour of the beautiful Cape Winelands in the Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek regions.
Visit two small, exclusive wine estates for a cellar tour and private wine tasting of some fine South African wines.
We would suggest a sumptuous picnic lunch at a wine estate en route (not included in the quotation, but this could be added as an additional service).
Return to the hotel in the later afternoon to freshen up before transferring to a fine local restaurant for dinner.  Return to the hotel in the late evening.

Day 6 - Cape Town

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and stroll around the quaint town of Stellenbosch before boarding your coach and driving to Cape Town, South Africa’s “Mother City”.
Mid / late afternoon arrival at your hotel situated at the popular Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
This evening your local guide will accompany you as you walk to one of the many fine restaurants within the precinct (for example, ‘Harbour House’ or ‘Sevruga’)
Day 06 – Day 09 3 nights
SOPHISTICATED, GRACIOUS AND RELAXING. The stunning yet understated Victorian architecture is combined perfectly with contemporary décor. With sweeping views of Cape Town’s finest offerings, the Table Bay is ideally situated. Positioned just away from the hustle of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, but close enough to walk, and a mere 5-minute drive from the city centre.
MOUTHWATERING CULINARY EXPERIENCES! Guests can choose from a laid back informal dining setting to one of the hotel’s fine dining choices. Both provide a mixture of local culinary delights fused with international flavours, leaving your palette begging for more.
THE PERFECT MIXTURE OF BUSINESS AND PLEASURE. Exquisite rooms, fully equipped boutique gym, swimming pool and The Table Bay Hotel Spa are just some of the world-class facilities on offer at The Table Bay Hotel.

Day 7 - Cape Town

The hotel is renowned for its lavish breakfast spreads.  This morning you depart on an orientation and walking tour of the City followed by a cableway ascent to the top of Table Mountain (weather permitting).
The afternoon is left at leisure for relaxation or for individual activities.  Your coach is at your disposal should you wish to spend some time on the white beaches in Camps Bay or Clifton!
In the early evening you will be transferred to GOLD restaurant – a renowned African restaurant celebrating the cuisine from various parts of the continent with a unique eating experience and entertainment provided by Mali ‘puppets’ (real people with headdresses) and traditional African dancers.  Return to the hotel in the late evening.
Day 8 - Cape Town
Early morning breakfast before departing on a full day tour of the spectacular Cape Peninsula.  Travel southwards through the exclusive coastal suburbs of Clifton and Camps Bay to the colorful fishing town of Hout Bay.  Continue to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve – renowned for its many species of indigenous fauna and flora as well as the spectacular scenery.  Take the ‘funicular’ up to the lighthouse lookout point for breathtaking views of the coastline below.
On departing the Reserve, drive in a northerly direction to the town of Simon’s Town – South Africa’s historical Navy base.  Visit Boulders Beach which is home to a large colony of African Penguins which you can get very close to as you walk along the wooden walkway.
Your last stop of the day are the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens situated at the foot of Table Mountain.  Enjoy a stroll through these beautiful gardens before returning to the hotel in the late afternoon.
This evening you will be transferred to a trendy restaurant in Camps Bay with beautiful views over the Indian Ocean (eg. Blues).  Enjoy a final farewell dinner and share some of your special memories of your holiday.
 Day 9 - Departure
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast followed by check-out procedures (rooms have to be vacated by 10h30).  The hotel is able to store your luggage safely until your departure.
You will be collected from the hotel and transferred to Cape Town International Airport for your flight out.
