What makes Sao Paulo a great destination

Why Sao Paulo
Sampa, so called by the locals, is the vibrant and lively business center of Brazil. It is a cosmopolitan city where people  work hard and play hard and it's also the city of conferences and congresses. Everything is big in Sao Paulo, the city is vastly spread out and has an enormous population (almost twenty million).

However, there is much more to Sao Paulo than meets the eye, it has wonderful restaurants with fine dining, many bars, night clubs, it has famous museums, like the Sao Paulo art museum, amazing architecture and  huge parks. The botanical gardens are beautiful and Sao Paulo is packed with things to do, places to go and people to meet.

We can help you put together the best program for your clients at Walpax.

Afternoon – "First Glimpse of this intriguing city" - Ibirapuera Park on a bike
The park as we see today was created in an area covered with pine trees - some still stand for the 4th Centenery of the city of São Paulo in 1954. Here you will see some of the very first Niemeyer buildings - who became worldwide famous for his daring architecture in Brasília. As you take one of the paths see long marquees linking the buildings and a comfort for rainy days. The lovely Japanese pavilion, the Modern Art Museum and the latest "acquisition" the Ibirapuera Auditorium, a concept of entrance by one side passing by a red "tongue" that lifts up and what would be the very end of the theatre - a huge wall that opens to the park, a place for performances in and outdoors and the Manequinho Lopes nursery, the Oca a turned down half sphere among many other. The park is the meeting place for joggers, mommies and prams and people that want to take some time away from it all

Dinner at Bar Brahma
Towns have streets corners that are magic! In São Paulo, the magic is in the heart of historical downtown - at the crossing of Ipiranga and São João. This is the address of Bar Brahma, a "paulistana" institution. Here some discuss politics, others a football dream team, at the other corner, the very young about Brazilian music, while outside the hustle and bustle of this giant city throbs! A welcoming ambience, simple hearty meals and the "chopp" (draft beer) drawn to the perfect zero degrees Celsius. Brahma a beer brand is as famous as any cola drink - you just call to the waiter: "Dá uma Brahma aí!" and you are served.

Pm – Half day Cultural Immersion
A city with a lot to see and enjoy, this is São Paulo. There is always something going on at the MASP - Museu de
Arte de São Paulo / São Paulo Art Museum. Its collection that started by a newspaper mogul in the 50's, who took advantage of Europe's economic situation and went shopping - Degas, Picasso, Cézanne, Rembrandt, a bit of everything. Besides having this intriguing collection for a South American Museum, the MASP is installed in a building that was built on top of a tunel and posed an architectural challenge met by Lina Bo Bardi. The exhibition hall is 80 m / 87.4 yards long, without columns. Or a visit to the Maria Luisa and Oscar AmericanoFoundation, their place of residence for many years and now a lovely museum with Brazilian memorabilia andtearoom.

Dinner with transfer at Mani Manioca Restaurant
More and more Brazilian chefs and restaurants are found in international lists. It is the recognition of the fine Brazilian gastronomy and the rich cultural heritage of ingredients that are making the grand entrée in the international scene.
Heleza Rizzo is a proud recipient of the 2014 Veuve Clicquot Best Female Chef of the World. With her husband Daniel Redondo of Spain, forming an unusual husband and wife team, they prepare a number of dishes that entice one's palate in their ManiManioca Restaurante opened in 2006.
In Jardim Paulistano, a charming and quiet area of the city of São Paulo and was named after the Brazilian native indian goddess Maní – a typical root of the country. Primarily local ingredients, organically grown, are cooked delicately using a range of techniques in dishes that usually reference the traditional country's dishes of flavors and combinations.
Decorated by Mariana Kraemer, Maní is a pleasant and cozy contemporary space
interior designer Mariana Kraemer with hydrangea-blue tables, Murano glass, colorful Alpaca skin lampshades and aged wooden furniture. In the creation and enhancing of this 3,000 square foot area which hosts up to 70 people natural lighting was explored to the fullest.

Take a metro to Japan !
Leaving the hotel, we will be taking the metro to Japan at Consolação station. After a change of train, we emerge at Liberdade station, a Japanese enclave in the city of São Paulo. Due to the difficulty in communication, the Japanese preferred to live and work together and made the Liberdade - a place very close to downtown - their quarters. There is the São Paulo Shinbum, the newspaper, several stores selling everything for a home, restaurants and on Sundays the traditional open market - with a lot of good things to eat! It is said that São Paulo is the largest Japanese city outside of Japan!

Lunch at Praça São Lourenço
Praça Sao Lourenço is one of these places that takes you back in time. The tranquility of small towns, the squares, the orchards and the singing of the birds - they are all there. Add to this a pond and an open fire and you are set for a perfect meal! Menu has a touch of Italian, a bit of grilled beef, pasta, risottos and fresh salads. Wine list is the best! Food preparation is one of the highlights at Praça São Lourenço, two firewood stoves and one firewood oven are in full action and a cooking delight! Desserts are called Pecados / Sins and the restaurant is right to name them so - from a special tiramissu, to brownies, from papaya cream with cassis to the Brazilian milk pudding, a list of 14 sins!
Afternoon: Free for Shopping

Dinner at Figueira Rubayat Restaurant
It is the place to see and to be seen, as well as to eat very well, just a block from the big banks and company headquarters of Avenida Paulista. The restaurant has a flashy younger sibling, the Figueira Rubayat.
