Short Bio Michael Velasco

Born in Bolivia but educated in the UK and living in Italy, I am a mix of different cultures. So I have the Latin temperament when it comes to talking to people, the English working attitude (I seem to work 24/7) and the great love for my beautiful country Italy.

I have worked in the travel industry for many years. Five years ago I decided to open my own DMC agency in Italy. Reliability, customer service, and hard work are the main focus points of my staff and I.
We would be delighted to work with you.

Destination Italy

You will find information about our destinations on the following pages: Florence, Italy, Milan and Rome. On these pages you will find the more details about us and our offices.

What makes  Italy a great destination

Why Italy

In the early days, and I am talking 19th century, the English were so seriously overwhelmed by Italy's beauty viewed during their Grand Tours, that they suffered "The Stendhal Syndrome - overcome by emotion they became dizzy and felt faint. It was the art, they said as they fell down.

I am not surprised, Italy is incredibly beautiful. With famous cities, like Florence - where even the smallest space can be turned into the most visual appealing art shop, papal Rome, fashionable Milan, red Bologna and magical Venice, the list is endless. The art, the breathtaking architecture, the cathedrals, the towers, the landscapes, if you visit our country you are in danger of falling in love with the place.

And of course our cuisine is delicious and so are our cappuccinos and espressos, our ice cream, our pastas and our olive oil.

In Italy there is an amazing variety and choice and we hope we may assist you with your programs.

You will not be disappointed, we do what we promise, in the time that we agreed.

Rome and Padova

Ancient, renaissance, baroque, contemporary. Political, papal, passionate. Vivacious, frivolous monumental. Rome caput mundi.
Italy's capital city is one of the most visited in the world. For many, Rome is first and foremost the political center of the nation, for others it is primarily home to the Pope.
All agree upon the importance of Rome in the development western civilization.

Once the capital of the Roman Empire, the most powerful of the ancient western world, Rome has retained its impressive cultural, historical, and artistic importance and is still, centuries later, an important protagonist on the world scene.
Here, every piazza, street, and alleyway records the history of Rome's glorious past, which is, needless to say, only a part of the city's charm.

Located centrally in the Veneto Region, between Venice on one side and Verona on the other, Padova is the capital of the province of the same name.
Ancient University, it boasts several evidences of a glorious cultural and artistic past.
The University of Bologna had already grown to 10,000 students by the time Padua (Padova) founded its university in 1222. Padua was long the academic heartbeat of the powerful Venetian Republic and far before that, an ancient Roman stronghold and for this reason one of the most important medieval and Renaissance cities in Italy. Dante and Copernicus studied here, and Petrarch and Galileo taught here. Wandering in the narrow, cobbled, arcaded side streets in the timeless neighborhoods surrounding the "Bo" (named after a 15th-century inn that once stood on the present-day site of the university), one can be transported back to those earlier times.
Padua is a vital city, with a young university population that gets about by bicycle and keeps the city's piazzas and cafes alive. The historic hub of town still evokes the days when the city and its university flourished in the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance as a center of learning and art.
The most important sights are Giotto's magnificent frescoes in the Scrovegni Chapel (fully restored between 1999 and 2001) and the revered pilgrimage site of the eight-domed Basilica of Sant'Antonio di Padova, whose important equestrian statue by Donatello stands in the piazza before it.

HOTEL METHIS – 4 Star Design style central location

Methis is a new glamorous boutique hotel close to the historical heart of Padua, rich in culture and charm town of Giotto and Galileo.

A sensation of pleasant contrast comes looking out of the windows of this hotel, modern and essential; at the bristling green of the outlying landscape. Inspired by the four elements - earth, water, air and fire - each of the hotel four stories encompasses differing colour schemes and designs. Fire is expressed in crimsons and scarlet, earth in browns and creams, water with transparency and shades of blue, while pure brilliant white signifies air.

The interior at Methis Hotel Padua is unified, however, through simple, natural materials, including light woods, bamboo, linen and gauze curtains. A de-stressing, exclusive ambience is the result, where guests can enjoy the Italian lifestyle.

Suggested venues for dinner :

Opened in 1987 this is one of the oldest restaurant in the heart of Padova and something like an institution. The restaurant is located near the best squares and the shopping area.
This venue is the perfect place for lovers of Italian food : the menu changes every three months following the seasons products as asparagus, artichokes, truffles, mushrooms.

This restaurant is one of the best in the Centre, the atmosphere is refined, well cared for in every detail, furniture is in the romantic style of the early years of the 19th century. The tables are large and well arranged in two rooms present on the ground floor, while a room for small groups is available on the top floor.
The menu features a great variety of dishes made using only fresh and seasonal ingredients, the pasta and the desserts are all handmade and there the wine list in very extensive.

Private guided tour including visit to Basilica of Sant'Antonio with its masterpieces by Giotto, Donatello, its secrets, its histories. Continue the tour visiting Padua city center main sights: Piazza dei Signori and a stop for the special recipe coffee at the gorgeous Caffé Pedrocchi.

The Basilica is the symbol of the city and its construction started in 1232 and went on until 1310. Inside guests will visit the Chapel of St Felix, with frescoes by Altichiero in the second half of the 14th Century, and the Saint's relics, in particular his chin and tongue, perfectly preserved.
The Palace was once the location of the law court. The "salone" upstairs has a beautiful wooden ceiling and the walls are entirely frescoed with astrological themes. It is impossible not to notice the huge wooden horse, created on Count Annibal Capodilista's will for an extraordinary feast in 1466. The Palazzo separates the two Piazzas, Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza della Frutta, and is daily animated by a lively market.

The world famous "door less café", so-called because until 1916 it was open day and night, besides being a famous meeting place for artists and intellectuals, also hosts temporary exhibitions of various kinds and reviews of jazz music.

A true masterpiece of pictorial art, this chapel, frescoed by Giotto between 1303 and 1305, was commissioned by the wealthy banker Enrico Scrovegni.
On the walls scenes from the Gospels and the life of Jesus, while the counter-façade shows the magnificent Last Judgement.

The match will take place at the Stadio Euganeo in Padova.
